This knowledge base article discusses steps necessary to enable monitoring for Cloud Object Connector Service.

Introduction

This knowledge base article provides steps necessary to enable monitoring for Cloud Object Connector Service.

Steps

1.Add Connector Service entry in the installation_list.yaml (C:\Program Files (x86)\MicroStrategy\Services Registration\yaml):

---
service:
  Name: Strategy-Cloud-Object-Connector-Service
  ID: Strategy-Cloud-Object-Connector-Service
  Port: 8444
  serviceType:
    typeId: 44
    displayName: Connector-Service
    shortName: Connector-Service
    dependsOn:
    - 4
    - 18
    startWith: []
    stopWith: []
  Tags:
    loopbackOnly: true
    windows:
      start: net start MSTRCCService /y
      stop: net stop MSTRCCService /y
  Check:
    ID: Strategy-Cloud-Object-Connector-Service-HTTPS-Health-Check
    Name: Strategy-Cloud-Object-Connector-Service-HTTPS-Health-Check
    tcp: localhost:8444
    Interval: 10s
    timeout: 5s

2. At the very end of the file, add:
- groupId: 11
  name: Connector Service
  children:
  - type: service
    typeId: 44

3. To stop/start the service SSH is required - if not installed, install OpenSSH https://github.com/PowerShell/Win32-OpenSSH/wiki/Install-Win32-OpenSSH and start the service from the Services panel.

4. Add an SSH-Server service in installation_list.yaml (C:\Program Files (x86)\MicroStrategy\Services Registration\yaml). Path can be any entry, as it is not used. (https://www2.microstrategy.com/producthelp/current/InstallConfig/en-us/Content/topology_config_SSH_windows.htm).
---
service:
  Name: SSH-Server
  ID: SSH-Server
  CommonPath: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Strategy
  InstallType: 1
  Port: 22
  Tags:
    version: 11.3.1260.0189

5. Navigate to the jar folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\MicroStrategy\Services Registration\jar) and run cmd 'java -jar svcsreg-admin.jar parse' command.

6. Stop the Services Registration Service, delete content of the data folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\MicroStrategy\Services Registration\data) and start the service again.

7. Connect from Workstation and test - Cloud Object Connector Service should be visible.
