Azure supports adding Azure AD properties as additional attribute statements in SAML Single Sign-On assertion.

Configure in Application SAML Config

  • In your Azure portal, click Microsoft Entra ID.
  • In the left navigation, click Enterprise Applications under Manage.
  • Open your SAML configuration application.

Add Additional Attributes Mapped from Azure AD

  • In your SAML application left navigation, click Single Sign-On under Manage.
  • In Attributes & Claims, click Edit.
  • Click Add new claim.
  • Enter the required fields and click Save.

Add SAML Assertion Attribute - System Prompt Mapping

You can add all the claims you created above to the Optional SAML Fields / Prompts section of your SAML configuration in Workstation.

  • In the Configure SAML dialog, type your claims values in the SAML assertion column of the Optional SAML Fields / Prompts section under Advanced and choose your desired Assertion Type. An available system prompt is automatically assigned to the mapping. For more information, see Enable Single Sign-On with SAML Authentication.

  • Use the assigned prompt in the expression of your report or security filter. When a user logs in with SAML, the assertion attributes map to the system prompts.
