KB5216: Schedules do not run when a new time-based trigger is created to fire within 10 minutes in Microstrategy Intelligence Server 9.x-10.x

Community Admin

• Strategy

SYMPTOM:

  1. Create a new Time-based trigger (Trigger A) from Strategy Desktop to fire within the next 10 minutes.
  2. Create a Schedule (Schedule A) using Trigger A and schedule a report (Report A) to use Schedule A.
  3. Schedule A does not run at the expected time and Report A is not executed. No new History List messages are also created in the history list.

CAUSE:
This is working as designed. Strategy Intelligence Server Scheduler refreshes the list of time-based triggers at 10 minute intervals or at start up from its Metadata. If a new time-based trigger is created to fire within the refresh cycle, as the internal list is not updated yet, the schedule does not run. This refresh frequency is not configurable.
