Strategy Intelligence Server API call IDSSReportSource::Execute is the call to send a report for execution. If DssReportSaveToInbox is assigned to one of this call's input parameters EnumDSSReportFlags, the report will also be sent to the history list.
To retrieve the report result from the history list, IDSSInbox::GetMsgResult is the Strategy Intelligence Server API call to use.
Below is the code snippet to retrieve all inbox messages for the first project running from the user that was used to login.

Dim myInBox As IDSSInBox
Set myInBox = MyDataSource.ServerAdmin.GetUserInBox(0) '0 is the project index
Dim i, totalMessage
totalMessage = myInBox.Count
i = 1
Dim msg As IDSSInBoxMsg
Dim myReportInstance As IDSSReportInstance
Dim myStatus As EnumDSSInBoxMsgRsltType
Do While i <= totalMessage
Set msg = myInBox.Item(i)
If (msg.RqstType = DssUserRequestReport) And (msg.RqstStatus = DssUserRequestResultReady) Then
Set myReportInstance = MySource.NewInstance(Nothing) 'create an empty report instance
Call myInBox.GetMsgResult(i, myStatus, myReportInstance) 'i is the message sequence number
End If
i = i + 1
Loop
