KB5767: What happens to the user objects when a user is deleted in Microstrategy Developer 9.x and newer?

Stefan Zepeda

Salesforce Solutions Architect • Strategy

This technical note describes what happens to the user objects when a user is deleted in Microstrategy Developer 9.x and newer

When a user is deleted from the Everyone user group in Strategy Developer 9.x and newer under Administration > User Manager as shown below:

ka02R000000kXNlQAM_0EM440000002GDf.gif

the following message appears:

ka02R000000kXNlQAM_0EM440000002GDb.gif

Do you want to delete the user profile folders?

The objects in these profile folders are created when the user saved the user objects in the My Personal Objects folders as shown below:

ka02R000000kXNlQAM_0EM440000002GDe.gif

If the profile folders are deleted, the user objects will be deleted as well. If they are kept, Administrators will be able to access them under that user's profile folders.

If the user created any objects in the public folder or the schema folder depending on the privileges, those objects will automatically be transferred under Administrator's ownership.
