Object Manager 9.4.x-10.x uses Global Unique Identifiers (GUID) to determine if two objects are the same between the Source Project and Destination Project. It does not use object names or types.

Object Manager 9.4.x-10.x uses Global Unique Identifiers (GUID) to determine if two objects are the same between the Source Project and Destination Project. It does not use object names or types.

  • When copying an object, Object Manager 9.4.x-10.x checks for dependencies. Conflicts occur when it finds any dependent objects (from the source project) that already exist in one form or another in the destination project.
  • This is how Object Manager 9.4.x-10.x determines if two objects in different projects are the same:
    1. It compares the object IDs of the two objects. If they are the same, it, then, compares the version IDs.
    2. If the version ID is the same, the Conflict Resolution grid will list the conflict as 'Exists Identically.'
    3. If the version ID is different, the Conflict Resolution Grid will list the conflict as 'Exists Differently.'
