KB5894: ’Cannot move or copy this user object because it has been changed in the metadata’ error message appears after changing the password for a user in 2-tier and trying to log into a 3-tier mode project as the same user with the new password in MicroS

Stefan Zepeda

Salesforce Solutions Architect • Strategy

SYMPTOM:

The following error message appears when a user changes a user's password in the 2-tier mode project and that user logs into the 3-mode tier project with the new password.
'Cannot move or copy this user object because it has been changed in the metadata'

CAUSE:

Since the modifications were done in 2-tier, bypassing the Intelligence Server layer, the Intelligence Server (3-tier) does not have the latest object definitions in its cache.

ACTION:

Restart the Strategy Intelligence Server to refresh in its memory. Afterwards, log into the 3-tier mode project source again.
