KB6757: Where to find the Log files of MicroStrategy Narrowcast Server 9.x - 10.x

Strategy Narrowcast Server has two log files:

• One for the Delivery Engine
• One for the Subscription Portal

The log file is the most helpful and useful tool when troubleshooting Strategy Narrowcast Server.
 
By default, the Delivery Engine Log file is under:

• on 64-bit machines: C:\Program Files (x86)\MicroStrategy\Narrowcast Server\Delivery Engine
• on 32-bit machines: C:\Program Files\MicroStrategy\Narrowcast Server\Delivery Engine

 
The name of the log file is DELog YYYY-MM-DD HH_MM_SS UTC.TXT. One example is: DELog 2001-11-07 19_04_11 UTC.TXT. This log file was created on November 07, 2001 at 7:04 p.m UTC time.
NOTE: The time is always displayed using the Universal Coordinated Time (UTC).
 
This log file contains all the information of the services that have been executed that day.
 
The location of the file can be changed. Check the Strategy Knowledge Base document KB15955 for explanations on this process.
 
The location of the Subscription Portal Log file is:

• on 64-bit machines: C:\Program Files (x86)\MicroStrategy\Narrowcast Server\Subscription Portal\asp\Logs
• on 32-bit machines: C:\Program Files\MicroStrategy\Narrowcast Server\Subscription Portal\asp\Logs

 
The name of the log file is YYYY-MM-DDerr.log. One example is: 2001-11-28err.log. This log file was created on November 28, 2001.
 
This log file contains all the information of the activity of the Subscription Portal.
