’Your request could not be processed due to a server error…’ error message appears when opening a project in MicroStrategy Administrator - Object Manager 9.x and later

SYMPTOM:
While an administrator either locks a project or has the project open in Strategy Administrator - Object Manager 9.x, Strategy Web end-users see the following error message while scheduling reports:
'Your request could not be processed due to a server error. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact the server Administrator. Strategy Server error: (Cannot modify or lock this object because a lock has been placed on it or one of its governors.)'

CAUSE:
This issue due to the feature 'Project Locking' feature. This feature was implemented to avoid metadata inconsistencies that could occur if an administrator makes schema changes to a project while end-users attempt to write to the metadata at the same time.

ACTION:
To lessen the impact of this feature, it is recommended that Administrators schedule actions that will lock the projects to a time when project usage is minimal.
