How to create an AutoStyle in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.x-10.x

Strategy 9.4.x-10.x has the ability to customize autostyle objects to allow reports in Strategy Developer and Strategy Web to apply customized formats.

To create a customized autostyle, follow the steps below:

  • Open a template or report editor and define a base template. The template should include the maximum number of attributes and metrics of any report that may use this autostyle. Define the format of the template by right-clicking on different objects and selecting 'Formatting'.

  • Once the autostyle is defined, go to the Grid menu and select Save AutoStyle.

  • The autostyle can be saved to the My Objects folder or to the Autostyle folder under Public Objects folder depending on the permission.
  • Once the autostyle is saved, the name is displayed in the autostyle drop down list.

  • The template or report can now be deleted. The autostyle is already created. Any new report or template this user creates can access the new autostyle from the drop down list.
