Document which supplies commands to obtain the MX (mail exchange) records for a particular domain

When using SMTP Direct Mode transmission, Narrowcast and Distribution Services queries for the Mail Exchange (MX) records of a domain to be able to send an email transmission.  Below is one possible method for obtaining the Mail Exchange (MX) records for SMTP message transmission manually. This information may be useful for troubleshooting Strategy Narrowcast Server/Distribution Services email transmission from a Windows machine.  Similar commands can be used if the Intelligence Server (Distribution Services) is on a non-Windows machine.

Steps:

  1. From the Narrowcast Execution Engine machine, launch the Windows Command Prompt.
  2. Type the following then hit Enter:   nslookup -type=MX <domain>
