SUMMARY
This Technical Note describes an issue in which Enterprise Manager 10.x reports do not run due to a database connection timeout.

SYMPTOM
In Strategy Developer 10.x, when running an Enterprise Manager report, the following error is encountered when a session connecting to Teradata fails intermittently:

[Teradata][ODBC Teradata Driver] Login timeout expired [28000:0: on SQLHANDLE][Teradata][ODBC Teradata Driver] Not enough information to log on Connection String: DSN=

CAUSE
This issue occurs when the maximum number of connections for the Teradata database at that particular instance is reached, and the LoginTimeout property is missing in the Teradata DSN.

ACTION
1) Increase the maximum number of connections for the Teradata database
2) Use the LoginTimeout=<value_in_seconds> property in the Teradata DSN
