KB7648: ’The History List for this Intelligence Server is full. To run a report, you must delete one or more messages from the History List on one of the projects running on this Server’ error message appears when running a report in MicroStrategy Web 9.x

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Web 9.x, when users run a report, they see the following error message:

The History List for this Intelligence Server is full. To run a report, you must delete one or more messages from the History List on one of the projects running on this Server.

 
CAUSE:
 
This error message appears because the maximum number of messages in the History List has been reached.
 
ACTION:
 
To resolve solve this issue, users must follow the steps below:

1. In the Strategy Web Preferences, change the number of History List messages to a higher number if set to Manual.
2. In Strategy Developer, right-click on the project source and select Configure Strategy Intelligence Server. In the Advance tab, change the value of Maximum number of messages per user to a higher value.

Also, the administrator can manually delete some history list messages that are no longer needed.
