This technical note describes the steps to create a security role for a specific project in MicroStrategy Developer 9.x and later

In Strategy Developer 9.x and later, to create a security role for a specific project, users must follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Go to the project to which to assign privileges, and go to 'Project Configuration'; then go to Project Access.
  2. In the Security Role list, select the security role that to assign.
  3. Under 'Available Users and Groups, do either of the following:
    1. To add a group, select the group and click on 'Add'.
    2. To add a user, in the All Groups list, select the group that contains the user to add, select the 'Show Users' check box, then select the user and click on 'Add'.
    3. Click on 'OK'.

 
After going to the User Manager and after clicking on the user, check that the user has available privileges for only the specific project assigned.
