KB9014: How to format the number values of the Y-axis of a graph in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.1 and 10.x

Some users may need to display the Y-axis value in order to show the type of number which is represented in a graph report.
For example, to display a number of type currency, perform the following steps:

• Open the report in Graph view and select 'Grids and Scales' from the 'Graph' menu. Expand the Axes section, followed by the Y section, and finally the Axis Labels section.
  

• Select 'Currency' from the Category drop down box and select the dollar sign "$" symbol from Symbol drop down.
• Click 'Apply' and then 'Ok' to exit.

Observe that the graph report now displays the dollar sign "$" in the Y-axis label, as shown in the screen shot below:
