  •

An administrative account is defined in one of two ways:

    • Select 'Enter Windows User Name' and then enter a user name in the format Domain\UserName.
    • Select 'Browse Windows Domain' and then enter a domain name. Next, select the user name.
  • Click 'ADD'. The new account appears in the panel 'Narrowcast Server Administrative Accounts'.
  • Highlight the new account and then click on 'Modify Privileges'. Refer to the section 'Assign or Remove Privileges' of this document.
  • Click 'OK'.

This new administrative account will appear in the 'Accounts' folder.

ASSIGNING OR REMOVING PRIVILEGES

  • Right-click the desired account and select 'Edit'. This launches the window 'Assign Administrative Privileges to Account', as illustrated below:
ka04W000000OgnIQAS_0EM440000002BsW.gif
  • To assign a privilege, select the desired privilege from the panel 'Available Privileges' and click 'ADD'. The privilege now appears in the panel 'Granted Privileges'.
  • To remove a privilege, select the desired privilege from the panel 'Granted Privileges' and click 'Remove'.

Notes:

  • An administrative account must be granted at least one privilege.
  • Accounts with the privilege 'System Administrator' must belong to the windows administrator user group of every machine in the narrowcast system. Otherwise, the account cannot correctly modify the system configuration.
  • If the user whose account is being modified is logged into the system while those modifications are made, those modifications will take effect only after the user logs out and logs back into the system.

For additional information, refer to Strategy Knowledge Base document KB30347 - Roles and privileges for accounts in Strategy Narrowcast Server 9.x

REMOVING AN ACCOUNT
Right-click the desired account and select 'Delete'.

Notes:

  • All Objects that belong to this account will no longer belong to any account. Only users with administrative access can manipulate the objects that belonged to the deleted account.
  • For a service designer account, only an application administrator can manage the object.
  • For a system administrator or subscription administrator, another account with the same privilege can control the objects.
