KB484978: "Keep parent while drilling" option does not work in dossiers unless the drill option is changed in

Mengran (Molly) Wang

Senior Cloud Support Engineer III • MicroStrategy

This article addresses the broken Keep parent while drilling option when drilling in a dossier. This article also provides a workaround to keep the parent when drilling.

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Description

When drilling in a dossier, the Keep parent while drilling option does not work as expected.

Steps to reproduce

  • In the Tutorial project, create a custom drill map drilling up from Call Center to Category, with the Keep parent option set to True.
