KB440837: MSTR 10.10 Snowflake Derived Tables require non-standard Outer Join VLDB property settings

This Knowledge Base article describes how using Snowflake data base outer joins are automatically set as off/ (nosupport)

SYMPTOM
When using a Snowflake database it may appear that the Metric Outer join option is turned on automatically. However, if you go to DB instance > VLDB Setting > Joins > Full Outer Join Support, you will find that by default “No Support” is selected. If you turn it to “Support” and restart iserver, then the Derived Tables work in a report that has metrics with outer-joins.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Connect a Snowflake database instance to Strategy.
CAUSE
there is no specific reason why we have this setting disabled by default. It is just asked to be aware of any performance problems that this setting can cause other than the regular warnings about this setting being high resource consuming on the DB. However, outer joins are high resource consuming in all DBs not only Snowflake in particular.
ACTION
This issue was reviewed by our Technology team for feasibility and will not be scoped for a code fix in any upcoming Strategy release.
WORKAROUND
Should outer joins be required we request they are turned on by switching them to Supported in the DBI's VLDB settings.  KB440837
