MicroStrategy 10.11 new feature: Outline mode to display hierarchy data

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
With Strategy 10.11, users can consume grid data with collapsible view options. This allows users to easily summarize multiple rows of data based on hierarchies. Users can click within the table to collapse or expand the hierarchy groups, quickly display summary rows, or reveal the details behind data for each group in a hierarchical view. This capability is now available for grids within dossiers, Report Services Documents and Strategy Mobile iOS App.
 

• Where to enable outline mode in Dossier?

Open a Dossier, add data, navigate to the Tab format and choose Enable Outline option

• Where to enable outline mode in a Report?

Run a Report and click the Outline button

Or navigate to Report Option and choose Outline Mode

User can Expand/Collapse (+/-) the grid from grid header and/or from the individual element in grid
Things to keep in mind when using Outline Mode

• Incremental Fetch will be disabled automatically if the Outline Mode is enabled in Reports
• After Outline Mode is enabled, if the user enables Incremental Fetch manually (from Report), the grid will be displayed in standard mode instead of Outline Mode
• Users will get notification when enable Outline Mode on Dossier Authoring if the grid has more than 5000 rows

• Hierarchy Sort is not supported
• Vertical text is not supported in Outline Mode
• Transactions are not supported in Outline Mode
