Java JRE 7 is no longer the most current release of Java SE. These older versions of the JRE and JDK are provided to help developers debug issues in older systems and they are not updated with the latest security patches and are not recommended for use in production.

As Oracle Java, JRE 1.7 is no longer the most current version of Java SE, and while our Usher products are using JRE 8 (Win64). Strategy has decided to predicate JRE 7 for the Analytical product. The older version of the JRE and JDK are provided by Oracle to help developers debug issues in older systems. The Java JRE and JDK 7 are no longer updated with security patches and are not recommended for use any longer in production environments.
Since the Java JRE 1.7 version is a security concern for Strategy and it was not meeting our customer security requirements, starting with Strategy 10.4 is shipped with JRE 8 (Win32 and Win64) for Analytical Products.
Starting with Strategy 10.4 the Analytical Products were tested and certified using JRE 8. We do not recommend to downgrade the JRE version shipped with our product and some new feature where created and tested with Java JRE 8 and we will no support such of downgrade configuration as will be a security concern and the customer could encounter problems with such of configuration.

As Strategy continue committed to comply with security and to meet customer security requirements we will support and certified our product with Java JRE 8 and is not responsible for changes and decision perform by third-party software such as Oracle stopping support for JDBC-ODBC Bridge driver that is no longer support by Java 8. The Customer using features that are no longer available or supported in the latest JRE 8 will need to improve their design and look for an alternative solution to their custom application.
