KB484782: MicroStrategy Compatibility with macOS Big Sur

Muna Abdi Yussuf

Product Manager • Strategy

This article shares important information about macOS Big Sur compatibility with MicroStrategy 2019, MicroStrategy 2020, and MicroStrategy 2021.

On November 12, Apple announced its Big Sur release, which is the latest version of their desktop operating system software.
Over the last few days, Strategy Support has observed an increase in customer inquiries related to macOS Big Sur compatibility. Specifically, some customers who have recently updated to Big Sur have reported navigation issues in Strategy Web and Strategy Library. Customers have reported these issues on both Strategy 2019 and Strategy 2020 platform versions when accessing content via both the Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. The following is the error that most customers are seeing:

JavaScript compile error:File: ../javascript/mojo/js/source/ui/_HasScroller.jsError: Cannot read property '1' of null

If you or your users have not yet installed Big Sur, we recommend that you first upgrade Strategy 2021 or that you wait for the upcoming platform updates scheduled for release in early 2021. Big Sur is certified as fully compatible with Strategy 2021, which was recently released for general availability. Additionally, Big Sur is fully certified with Strategy 2020 Update 4 and Strategy 2019 Update 8 — both of these releases are available now.
If you or your users have installed Big Sur and you’re experiencing issues, please contact the support team to receive assistance in addressing your concerns.
We appreciate your attention to this matter and encourage you to contact us if you have any further questions concerning this update.
