Objective

  • Integrate Strategy with a portal for 1,000+ external monthly users that provides information on government expenditures and contracts to the public.

Overview
A foundation was responsible for implementing education policies defined by the State of São Paulo's Education Department (SEE), and managing programs, projects, and actions aimed at ensuring the proper functioning, growth, and improvement of the public school system. SEE has the largest education network in Brazil, with 5k schools, 230k teachers, 59k servers and more than four million students. In order to comply with the law on Access to Information, they needed to make their information available to the public with agility, transparency, and clarity. The previous SAS solution did not meet these standards as it had infrastructure limitations and only stored data for two months.
The customer’s main concern was around performance and providing agility with access to information. Strategy Consulting’s solution was to integrate our platform with their customer portal. We developed four dashboards to meet their customer needs and compliance standards. These dashboards facilitate easy understanding of the information by any user without the need for previous knowledge of the subject. We also migrated from version 10.4 to 10.9 to create a dossier version of dashboards to be accessed on mobile. SDK was used to perform guest portal SSO authentication with Strategy, as well as to customize the header of the dossier.
The Transparency Portal has become a means of communication with the external public and improved their image with the school community, as well as the general public. This is now viewed as a model example for other public entities across the country of complying with the access to information law.

Lessons Learned

  • Adapting Dossier to meet the customer’s integration requirements was the biggest challenge faced during this go-live. There were issues with accessing Dossier on different types of mobile devices (iOS and android). Features working well on one device presented problems on the other, and vice versa. The strong team onsite was able to tackle this issue for the Dossier integration.

Services Core Tenants:

  • Boost user and/or functional adoption: We customized the header of the Dossier according to existing portal standards, and made customized SSO via SDK to allow the external public access without requesting authentication in Strategy.
  • Increase enterprise self-sufficiency: They use our solution to meet legal requirements of the Brazilian Law through the reuse of dashboards that were already developed and validated.

Project Duration

  • 3 months
