Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a user on the PostgreSQL database server with scram-sha-256 authentication.
  2. Configure ssl on the PostgreSQL database.
  3. Test ssl connection with the user in step 1 on the Windows ODBC data source. Notice that the connection fails.
  4. Change the authentication method from scram-sha-256 to password. Notice that the ssl connection is successful.

Workaround

  1. If scram-sha-256 authentication on PostgreSQL database is not required, use md5 or password authentication as the alternative.
  2. Use native PostgreSQL ODBC driver, PostgreSQL Unicode (x64).
