KB441246: MicroStrategy Web login page keeps appearing in Internet Explorerand JSession cookie cannot be created.

Community Admin

• Strategy

This is a known issue in IE 11. If the domain or subdomain the web application is on contains underscores, session cookies are not created. This issue is not observed in Microsoft Edge. Internet Explorer does not allow underscores in the host name so it does not submit the JSESSION ID cookie to the web server. This causes the login page to show continuously even though the correct credentials are entered.

KB441246
SYMPTOM
The MicroStreategy Web login windows keeps appearing in Internet Explorer even though the correct credentials are entered. This behavior is not observed in Microsoft Edge, Chrome or Firefox.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
To simulate the behavior
1.- create an entry in host file in Windows located in "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc" containing and underscore in its name as shown in the screenshot (i.e. mstr_test.test.test)
