Customers who wish to upgrade to the latest minor JRE version may do so. Strategy's update releases will continue to ship with minor version upgrades. Major version upgrades will occur when applicable in the next Strategy Platform release. The currently supported Strategy platform versions are:

As of March 2024, Strategy has upgraded our platform to Java 17.
As an example, the Strategy 2019 platform operates on JRE version 8. Update releases on Strategy 2019 may provide incremental minor JRE version upgrades in addition to other security and product fixes. Customers are supported if they further upgrade to a later minor version of JRE 8. A major version upgrade on Strategy 2019, such as to JRE version 11 is not supported. Customers who wish to adopt JRE version 11 must upgrade to the Strategy 2021 platform.
KB482920: How to Change JRE to OpenJDK for Windows and Linux details the steps to control which JRE is used by the Strategy platform, such as when performing a minor version update or when switching JRE providers.
