Oracle’s decision to begin charging for Java SE 8 updates post January 2019 will not affect Strategy’s ability to continue delivering high quality products to our customers.
Strategy 2019 ships with the latest release of OracleJDK 8 available as of December 2018 (version 8u192). With the release of 2019 Update 1, Strategy now certifies OpenJDK 8. Instructions on how to switch to this distribution for customers who have chosen not to license Java from Oracle may be found here:

We will provide this certification for all future updates to Strategy 2019.
Future Strategy releases, including the Strategy 2020 platform release, are expected to ship bundled with the OpenJDK instead of OracleJDK, but to be certified with both. Strategy will provide instructions and tools to enable customers to switch between the two distributions.
