Lauren O'Connor

Vice President, Product Marketing • MicroStrategy

To simplify adding app navigation in iOS devices, you can place a tab bar on each page with the Navigation for iPad document template.

Notice that the only visible part of the document is the Page Footer. To create the tab bar, you will place the buttons with links on this section of the template. You can customize the color and look of the buttons and bar.

Steps to add tab bar navigation below:
1. On your Web homepage, click Create Document and select Navigation for iPad.
2. To add another button, click inside the panel and then click +.

3. To add a caption, double-click the Caption text box and type your app page names.
4. To add links, right-click the button and select Properties and Formatting.
5. Click the icon to Configure actions on this button.

6. In the Links window, select Run this report or document.
7. Select the appropriate document. To launch your home page first, make sure the first button on the template is linked to the home page.
8. Click OK, then Close.
9. Save the document as the title of your app, such as Sales Performance
On your device, open the Navigation for iPad document you created and renamed to view the new app’s navigation bar. Notice that when you launch the app the home page appears because this is the document linked to the first button on the navigation bar.
