KB485574: Navigation in Dossier is inconsistent

Monica Gallegos Salazar

Principal Product Specialist • MicroStrategy

Navigation in Dossier is inconsistent.

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Symptom

In Strategy Library 2021 Update 5, after navigating a prompted dossier multiple times, the error “The result is no longer available” shows.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a prompted Dossier and run it.
  2. Answer the prompts and take note of the results of the Dossier.
  3. Select the "Show Navigation Bar" button if the navigation bar isn’t showing.
  4. Press the back button in the Strategy Navigation Bar (Note: do not use the Back button in the Internet browser)
  5. Once back at the prompts screen press the forward button in the Strategy Navigation Bar
  6. Once back at the Dossier results screen, press the back button in the Strategy Navigation bar.
  7. Notice that, instead of showing the prompts screen, you encounter an error message:

An error has occurred
We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please contact your administrator for help.
The result is no longer available. Possible reasons are (1) the associated session has timed out; (2) the working set has reached the maximum number of objects; (3) the Administrator has deleted the associated session; or (4) the project has been unloaded or is idle.

Cause

This is a known issue in Strategy Library 2021 Update 5.

Action

The issue is still being reviewed for feasibility by our Technology team for an upcoming scheduled Strategy release.
