New Customer Support Portal - Coming September 6th, 2017!

Humzah Nasir

Senior Business Analyst • Strategy

MicroStrategy is releasing a new support portal September 6th! When it's out, you can access important resources from your Community dropdown. To submit a case online, log in to the Community Website and navigate to the Customer Support Portal.

Submitting a Case Online
Step 1:  Getting Started
After selecting “Support Center” from the drop-down menu in Community, you will be provided with the following four options:

  1. Ask the Community – By selecting this option, you can start a Community-wide discussion forum.  There, you can pose a question to thousands of other Strategy customers and employees.  Tag your question with topics that have UC codes to ensure it goes to the right audience.
  2. Request an Enhancement – If you have an idea for an enhancement to the Strategy platform, select this option, and you will be taken to the Ideas section of the community.  This area is regularly reviewed by Strategy’s Product Management team so that the  suggestions with the most votes can be incorporated into product upgrades.
  3. Open a Case – If you are unable to find a solution within the Community, please select this option.  After opening a case, a Strategy Technical Support Engineer will contact you to help resolve your issue.
  4. View my Cases – Select this option if you simply want to view your case history.  You will be provided with information on both your past and current cases.

Step 2: Creating a Case
To submit a Case, select “Open a Case”
Opening a case now requires some new fields. These fields are designed to help us troubleshoot and resolve your issue faster and with less effort from you.

All fields now include an example as a placeholder. This placeholder will go away as soon as you start typing and are meant to give you guidance on what information to provide.
You will be prompted to fill out the following information pertaining to your problem:

  • DSI
  • Environment
  • Product
  • Version
  • Priority

Next, you will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Subject – A short description of your issue
  • Expected Behavior – What you expected to occur as a result of your actions in Strategy
  • Actual Behavior – What actually occurred as a result of your actions in Strategy
  • Steps to Reproduce – How to recreate the issue (i.e. your Step-by-Step procedure that leads to errors)
  • Impact on Business – A series of questions that will help Strategy engineers determine the severity of your issue

Once the fields are filled, click Next to proceed to useful articles. This articles come directly from our community content and will help you get solutions fast without having to open a case. If you are interested in a specific item, click on it and see if it solves your problem. The article will open in a new window so you can always continue to log a case.

If one of the articles helps to solve your issue, then select “Found what I needed!” to get back to the Community homepage. If the knowledge base articles fail to address your issue, click “Log Case.”
