Support of asymmetric Intelligence Server clusters with MicroStrategy version 10.11+

Pascal Deguine

Principal Product Specialist • Strategy

This knowledge base article introduces an enhancement of MicroStrategy Library 10.11 to allow connecting to an asymmetric Intelligence Server cluster.

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Description

With Strategy Library 10.11, asymmetric Intelligence Server clusters are now supported. If projects are not loaded on all or only on a selection of Intelligence Server nodes, Strategy Library is now able to create a user session.
When connecting an older Strategy Library version, such as 10.9 or 10.10, to an asymmetric Intelligence Server cluster, the user will be unable to login. The user will encounter a login error when attempting to open a dossier link in Strategy Library.
View the error message received with older versions below:

MSTRLogMMDDYYYY.log will contain the following error:

Project is offline or offline pending

Why is this happening?

The Strategy engineering team has built the new support of asymmetric Intelligence Server clusters for 10.11+ versions.

Solution

Upgrade to Strategy 10.11 or a later platform version in order to take advantage of support of asymmetric clustering with Strategy Library. For more help, feel free to start a discussion on Community or create a case with your Support liaison.
