KB485779: Not all areas appear in ESRI Map in Report Services Document in presentation mode compared to a Dossier in MicroStrategy Web

Stefanie Polleri

Senior Cloud Support Engineer III • MicroStrategy

This article outlines how to resolve an issue with not all areas appear in ESRI Map in Report Services Document in presentation mode compared to a Dossier.

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Summary

When using the Map widget in a Report Services Document, when a grid has incremental fetch enabled, not all the data is displayed on the map in presentation mode.
When displaying areas for specific regions or cities within an ESRI map, it was noticed that not all areas were displayed when using a Report Services Document compared to a dossier

Within dossier:

Whereas within document with same dataset and properties:

Cause

In dossier, incremental fetch for ESRI map is unset by default. While in RSD, incremental fetch for ESRI map is set by default. If we change the visualization type from grid to ESRI map, the setting will not be changed.

Workaround

Please disable the incremental fetch within the grid properties of the document:

After disabling the incremental fetch within the grid properties of the document, the map now displays all areas as expected:
