KB442249 Once the Intelligence Cube is loaded into memory the size of the Cube in the Cube Monitor in Developer does not reflect the real size.

Stanislaw Heba

Senior Support Engineer • Strategy

This KB is describing a defect when trying to see the size of the Intelligence Cube in the Cube Monitor.

SYMPTOM:

We should ignore the size of the Cube in the Cube Monitor when the Status is "A,F" (Active, Filed). It does not tell us anything helpful and we should not use it as a point of reference. The main thing to keep in mind is that the A,F size is the I-servers best guess as to what the size in-memory will be once it is loaded

CAUSE:

It is also worth noting that when the status is A,F the true size in memory is 0 since it is not loaded in memory. It doesn't tell us anything about what the true size actually will be once it is loaded into memory. It is basically a made-up number.
