KB442176: Pie chart visualizations in Visual Insight dashboards and Dossiers do not show slices for elements with small percentage values in MicroStrategy Web 10.x

Shane Winslow

Cloud Support Expert I • MicroStrategy

This Knowledge Base Article outlines a defect of MicroStrategy Web 10.x where pie chart visualizations in Visual Insight dashboards and Dossiers do not show slices for elements with small percentage values. This defect has been fixed in MicroStrategy 11.0.

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Web 10.x, pie chart visualizations in Visual Insight dashboards and Dossiers do not show slices for elements with small percentage values. When the value is less than ~0.5%, the slices do not appear in the pie chart visualizations as seen below.

This issue does not occur for pie chart graphs in report services documents.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Create a new Dossier.
  2. Import an Excel file with the following data.
