SYMPTOM
User created a Report Services Document that contains an ESRI map widget which displays fine when in Web. However when the document is then exported to PDF – the ESRI map shows as a grid.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a document containing ESRI map widget
2. Provide data to be displayed on the map
3. Export the document to PDF
4. Notice that the map shows as grid on the exported PDF
CAUSE
Currently the PDF export of ESRI map is supported only for VI dashboards.
WORKAROUND
There is a workaround in the form of a 3rd party plugin from Invexer, that enables export of ESRI map and many other widgets/visualizations (that are currently not correctly exported) in report service document to PDF.
