Setting “Maximum quota per user” for User Group doesn’t work in MicroStrategy 10.x and the tab “Import Data” including this setting is missing from User Group editor for above MicroStrategy 10.7

SYMPTOM
User might notice below behavior regarding the setting“Maximum quota per user” for User Group in Strategy 10.x and 11.x:

  • For versions prior to 10.7, this setting exists in “Import Data” for User group in Developer. But it is not actually taking effect. Users would not inherit the governing.

  • From version 10.7 or above, the tab “Import Data”is missing from the editor.

CAUSE
This is per design. This tab and settings is not designed for user group. Thus it would not take effect even if it exists and is configurable in older release.
From 10.7, to avoid the misunderstanding, Strategy removed the settings from user group editor.
For “Maximum quota per user”, it can be controlled at user level and project level.
