KB484263: Subscriptions created by Command Manager doesn't show prompt answer element names correctly in Web

James Chen

Software Engineer, Senior • MicroStrategy

This article explains why element names of subscriptions are not displayed as expected in MicroStrategy Web.

Description

When you are viewing subscriptions created by Command Manager on Web, you may notice an issue regarding the element display names.

Steps to reproduce

  • Create a subscription via Command Manager as shown below. The subscription includes an attribute prompt answer.
CREATE HISTORYLISTSUBSCRIPTION "hl_sub_prompt_2" SCHEDULE "Monday Morning" USER "administrator" CONTENT "Store Sales" IN FOLDER "\Public Objects\Reports\Subject Areas\Daily Analysis" IN PROJECT "Strategy Tutorial" PROMPT "Predefined elements of Call Center" ANSWER "8D679D3511D3E4981000E787EC6DE8A4:1,8D679D3511D3E4981000E787EC6DE8A4:2"; 2

  • In Web, open the prompt answer of the subscription. The elements are not displayed by their names, but by their IDs.

Why is this happening?

The Intelligent Server doesn’t search and save the element names when saving the prompt answer.
