Subscriptions “disappear” both from MicroStrategy Web and MicroStrategy Developer but are still running.

Mateus Salmeron

Senior Support Engineer • MicroStrategy

This article narrates the behavior where all subscriptions no longer appear both in MicroStrategy Web and MicroStrategy Developer but are still running.

Symptom

All subscriptions are no longer appearing without any changes made in the environment. All of them continue to run. Trying to show a subscription created for an object this is what the view you get:

ka04W000000Of0kQAC_0EM4W0000070LyG.jpeg

Cause

Changes in the metadata could lead to this behavior with the subscriptions not being shown.

Action

Run the following SQL statement against the metadata with the subscriptions:

SELECT * FROM DSSCSSUBINSTwhere DSSCSSUBINST.PARENT_ID = '00000000000000000000000000000000'ANDDSSCSSUBINST.STATUS=0ORDER BY DSSCSSUBINST.CREATION_TIME ASC

Make sure all the subscriptions in the result of this query are the ones missing from Strategy Web and Strategy Developer.
Take a metadata backup since the statement in the next step will update the metadata.
Run the following update statement:
UPDATE DSSCSSUBINST SET STATUS=1 WHERE STATUS=0 and DSSCSSUBINST.PARENT_ID = '00000000000000000000000000000000';

The subscriptions should all be available now in Strategy Web and Strategy Developer.
