Switch environments from within the MicroStrategy Library Mobile app

Ajitpal Raina

Quality Architect, Senior - Director • MicroStrategy

Description

One of the key troubles that Strategy Mobile customers always had was the fact that they could access one environment at a time from within the Mobile app. Before now, it was a cumbersome process to switch to a different environment. The user had to either open up an email, a link saved on their notepad, a link shared on their internal app stores etc. Each time they had to switch their environments or point their mobile apps to a different environment. This was not only inefficient, but a drain on time given that the links could exist in so many different places in a non curated fashion.
With Strategy Library for Mobile (starting 10.9), we addressed the problem by providing end users the option to save all environments configured at different points of time within the Mobile application itself. Strategy now also offers the ability to switch between environments with just few clicks; this provides users more resources on-the-go.

Getting started on the Library Mobile app

To switch environments on the mobile Library app, follow these next steps:
1. Go to your Library on the mobile App.
2. Tap on the "Library" button to expose the options to browse different folders.
This option already provides context about which environment they are already connected to.
View the image below to follow along with the steps.

3. Tap on the switch environment icons.
The user has the ability to switch to any environment (or Library) saved within the app configuration.
4. Users should be able to see the different environment options.
5. Choose the environment you would like to see in the Library mobile app.
