Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

The restaurant industry is one of the key service industries where the focus is to best serve the customer. While the corporate office decides the business growth strategy, this is based on the day-to-day decisions made by operating partners at their restaurants. Restaurant managers may feel they don’t have enough time to pursue advanced business intelligence (BI) analytics or access different systems to gain insights to align to corporate goals. Sales is important for the business but managing labor effectively and enabling the brand value help to drive the sales allows for a better margin.
The main demands from BI/analytics have shifted towards the following areas:

1. Easy & Quick Access to Insights
Operating partners need a “one-stop-shop” place for information to make day-to-day operational decisions like aligning weekly sales targets, scheduling labor effectively, as well as managing inventory and up-sell menu items.
Strategy makes it easier by providing pixel-perfect dashboards built to be accessed on mobile. Visual analytics provide complex information in a simpler format to be used by restaurant operating partners, executive chefs along with corporate executives (with appropriate security by role).
2. Access to Data\Insights On-The-Go (Mobility)
In most restaurant businesses, 90% of the BI users are in field (this includes market partners, chefs, operating partners), so it becomes important to ensure access to insights on-the-go while also keeping data secure. The Strategy Mobile app comes in very handy for rolling out insightful pixel-perfect dashboards to a large audience that provide access to insights from a bird's-eye view to the lowest possible granularity for making business decisions. Operating partners can make daily decisions looking at the performance of their location and market partners can see outlier locations and ensure implementation of corporate strategic decisions.
AirWatch provides an easy mode for rolling out Strategy mobile to Apple devices, with or without customization, as well as managing application updates across these devices. Access to Strategy Mobile through the App Store makes it easy to download and, with a valid configuration URL, quickly provides connectivity to your systems.
Strategy Transaction services integrated with mobile capabilities provides plenty of opportunities from recording live guest feedback, tracking labor hours, or managing inventory by updating the quantities linked to other systems which in turn can be used as data points for a common view.
3. Self-Service and Federated Analytics
As the market has become more competitive, industries are making every possible effort to gain valuable insights from all available data points. In order to do so, every department will have analysts who are well versed with business needs and data querying. By using Strategy Intelligent Cubes and dossiers, users will have access to the data they need. If ad-hoc reporting is required, then Intelligent Cubes suit well while dossiers help them design insightful stories.
Today’s end users are data savvy and need products which can access different types of data, manage it and design story-telling insights. Though the Marketing department is still the largest consumer of insights, Finance and Controlling are sponsoring BI Projects and deciding the KPIs for the businesses.
IT departments need to ensure they provide products and systems which are scalable, reliable and easy for business users; Strategy does it all. It can provide access to insights using web and mobile solutions as required. The Strategy Community, with numerous experienced professionals who are ready to extend help, is a great location to find shared real-life project experiences and curated content by role makes it easy for users to learn the product.
4. Customer Lifetime Value
To stay relevant and provide services to the customers that meet or exceed their expectations, it is very important to identify the type of customers. If there is new customer, what can be done to make him a repeat customer or how to retain the repeat customer. Business Intelligence provides the opportunity to track this using data points from digital data to location foot-traffic.
Though the BI market has evolved in the last decade or so, Strategy still holds the ground strong. This is based on their strategy of serving customer needs with constant product improvements, creating a network of strong community members, and complementing other products instead of competing. Currently, Strategy provides connectors to all leading data or BI products, ensuring businesses have a seamless experience and one single source of truth.
Based on the above-mentioned key capabilities and newly released features like HyperIntelligence, there are immense opportunities to be explored in the Restaurant industry. Imagine knowing about customer choices before-hand, so they can have un-paralleled Restaurant experience.
