KB484038: The message, "Please update Android System Web view to improve stability and performance," appears on the Android Library app

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Description 

When you log into the Android Library app and execute a dossier on your Android device, that is running Android 5 or Android 6, you may get the follow message:
Please update Android System Web view to improve stability and performance

Why is this happening?

Running an Android device with a lower Android System Web view will prevent the Library app from fully supporting all functionalities of dossiers, such as offline support. There may be some compatibility issues when running on a lower Web View version on Android Library.
 

Solution

To avoid this issue, you should upgrade the version of your Android System Webview. You can do this by doing one of the following: 

• Go to the Google Play Store or other app stores, search for Android System Webview, and download the upgrade. 
• Go to the Google Play Store or other app stores, search for Chrome, and download the upgrade.
