Dear Strategy Customers,
We are pleased to announce updates for Strategy Mobile and Strategy Library Mobile. We always strive to support the latest technologies and standards as the market evolves. These updates help ensure that our mobile applications and SDKs meet certain requirements of leading mobile platforms.
Android
As of August 1, 2019, the Google Play Store requires customers who submit new mobile applications to include both 64-bit and 32-bit versions. Learn more about these requirements.
This change only impacts Strategy customers who (1) leverage the Strategy Mobile SDK for Android or the Strategy Library SDK for Android and (2) publish their customized applications to the Google Play Store. We plan to update these SDKs for Android in Strategy 2019 Update 3, tentatively scheduled for release at the end of Q3 2019.
If you need to publish a customized Strategy Mobile 2019 Update 2 application to the Google Play Store prior to this release, please reach out to Strategy Support.
Existing users who download Strategy Mobile or Strategy Library 2019 Update 2 applications directly from the Google Play Store will not be affected, and no action is required.
Customers who distribute mobile applications via an EMM solution are also not impacted, and no action is required.
iOS
Apple is expected to release a new version of their mobile operating system, iOS 13, this September. Strategy Mobile and Strategy Library 2019 Update 3, which is tentatively set for release at the end of Q3 2019, is expected to be certified for use with iOS 13.
We are currently working closely with MobileIron, AirWatch, and BlackBerry to certify our integrated solutions with iOS 13 as they also update their SDKs. Full compatibility and certification status are expected to be published at the time of release.
