KB441471: Users can drill in dossier after drilling has been disabled in base report

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
SUMMARY: 
This article describes a known defect where the report-level drill settings are not applied to dossiers.
 
SYMPTOM:
After drilling has been disabled in a report, users expect that users would not be able to drill in a dossier that uses the report as a dataset.  This setting is applied when creating a Report Services Document.
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Create a report with Region, Category, Subcategory, and the Revenue metric.
2. In Developer, go to Data > Report Data Options, then select Drilling under General.
3. Uncheck the option “Enable report drilling” and select OK.
4. Save the report.
5. Create a dossier using the base report created in Step 1.
6. Add Region and Category to the rows and Revenue to the metrics.
7. Save the dossier.
8. Right-click any of the attribute elements on the grid.
9. The option to Drill to Subcategory is available and works.

CAUSE:
This is a known defect in Strategy 10.x.
 
ACTION:
Strategy will continue investigating and post updates as soon as they are available.
 
WORKAROUND:
Add an empty drill map to the base report.  The empty drill map will be inherited in the dossier, preventing users from drilling.  For additional details regarding custom drill maps, refer to the Report Designer guide.
