KB439880: Web Services Security Vulnerability

We want to highlight a Security Vulnerability that has been discovered in Strategy Web Services (The Microsoft Office Plugin). This vulnerability is limited only to Web Services, and does not impact Strategy Web, Strategy Mobile, or any other components of the Strategy platform.
This issue has resolved in 10.4 Hotfix 8 and Strategy 2019 and newer. Please upgrade to one of these versions to resolve this issue. If you are on lower versions of our software and need a patch, contact support@microstrategy.com.
In the interim, we recommend that you uninstall Strategy Web Services and re-install after the fix has been implemented.
How to uninstall Strategy Web Services:

• Launch the Strategy Installer. If necessary, you can do this through the Control Panel.
• Click Modify.
  

• Deselect Strategy Office and Strategy Web Services for Office.
  

• Click Yes at the prompt to confirm deletion of the Strategy Web services directory.
  

• Click Next > OK > Next.
  

• Restart your machine, if necessary.
