Have you been keeping up with HyperIntelligence?
With the 2019 release, Strategy launched HyperIntelligence that deploys contextual insight to any website or mobile device. Whether you’re in Salesforce looking at reports, or scrolling through the New York Time site, HyperIntelligence helps users across the enterprise get the answers they need all in one place—no clicks required.

As we expand our HyperIntelligence product family, our development team has curated multiple different HyperIntelligence card templates to showcase your data. With all the multiple different options, the question is then, Which card template do I choose in order to showcase your critical KPIs and company information? No worries! We have you covered.

Get Started with Templates

All of the card building is completed in Strategy Workstation. Before starting to build your card template of choice, ensure all of your datasets are uploaded as Intelligent Cubes within the given project. Feel free to upload the datasets on Workstation, Web, or any of our authoring interface—regardless, the Cube will appear in the Datasets pane of Workstation.

Tip: Remember that you might want to create a multi-form attribute for your keyword in order for multiple forms to appear in the header of the card. For example, you might create a multi-form attribute for an employee using the forms: Name, Title, and Email. For Profile cards, you may also add an image to the multi-form attribute. Check out the video below to learn more about multi-form attributes.

Tip: Use the “Sort By” feature to sort the datasets by Name or Date Created.
This makes it easier to find exactly what you are looking for, especially if you have many datasets.

Choosing your card template

The next step in building your HyperIntelligence card is choosing a template.

A total of three card options will appear as options.

With 2019 Update 2, you now have a selection of three different card templates:

  • Basic Templates
  • Profile – Ring Templates
  • Profile – Matrix Templates

Basic Cards

The Basic card template is our default template—it is the most standard and basic template for HyperIntelligence. This specific template provides a header, various cells for attributes and metrics, and the option of a footer for more space. Many times, you might put biographical information or a short summary within the footer of the card. Though the basic template doesn’t have charts or ring widgets, it provides the information users need to make decisions at a fast pace.

One thing unique to the Basic card template is the ability to showcase multiple different attribute forms within the header. For example, here we have a multi-form attribute for the company keyword. The Company Name is the ID and main title, but we were also able to showcase the location of Headquarters and name of the CEO—making the most of the header space and providing more insights for the end user.

A few use cases for Basic Cards

  • Any dataset that does not require a “profile image”
    • Our profile templates contain image placeholders
  • Financial Information at a quick glance
    • Quick information about daily changes in profits or revenue
  • Basic employee contact information
    • Lookup new team members before a meeting
    • Slack or email anyone within the company

Tip: When you want to change the card template, return once again to the Change Template. Then, Choose Change in the message window.

Profile-Ring Cards

ka02R000000g0ZtQAI_0EM2R000000h7JF.png

The Profile-Ring template was released with Update 1. The Profile-Ring template introduced our list view and ring widgets. The Profile-Ring choice provides for a header, list view rather than boxed cells, ring widgets for easy-to-view metrics and percentages, and an optional footer. The ring widget enhances metrics such as Revenue % Change YOY, or even different employee performance metrics. Across the industries, charts allow for easy visualization of progress or KPIs across the enterprise. It saves end-users the time of reading through all cells.

Note: Images for Profile templates can be hosted on a local server or the Library Server.
When adding images to the Profile-Ring card for individual use, we use the following steps for images:

  1. Host the image at an online location of your choice.
  2. Edit the dataset using the Strategy wrangling feature.
  3. Use the follow formatting for images within the dataset:
    1. <img src="LINKTOTHEHOSTEDIMAGE.png">
  4. Ensure the “image” column is a multi-form attribute connected with your keyword attribute. This ensures the images will appear in the header.
  5. After creating the multi-form attribute, change the image data type to “HTML Tag”.
  6. Update the dataset after wrangling the data.

The benefit of using the Profile-Ring card is that you have a very clean card outline. The list view enables easily readable information from left to right. Compared to the cells in the Basic template, the list view enables end-users to more easily read all of the information. The card charts, or “ring widgets” as you might hear them referred to, are unique to this template and allow you to easily view main metrics. The Profile-Ring card enables the perfect combination of displays.

A few use cases for Profile-Ring Cards

  • Any dataset that contains metrics that can be visually displayed with charts
  • Employee Card showcasing % to overall sales goal
    • Quick information about Sales numbers and quarterly achievements
    • Employee metrics easily viewable across the charts
  • Client “Health Checks”
    • Review information regarding % engagement with representatives
    • KPIs regarding Sales amongst different product categories
    • View % of customer calls or customer success rate
    • Can be accessed on Desktop sites or HyperMobile

Profile-Matrix Cards

ka02R000000g0ZtQAI_0EM2R000000h7JK.png

The Profile-Matrix template is the latest card released in Update 2. The Profile-Matrix was specifically developed for an employee or individual profile. The Profile-Matrix template capitalizes on the combination of boxes cells and the list view, as well as an optional footer section. This enables card creators to input text-heavy attributes, as well as a number of metrics within different sections—increasing the style points and overall card readability.

For example, with a Profile-Matrix card, you may want to view certain information that is best suited for the list view, such as an email address, Slack link, or phone number. In combination with the text attributes, you will want to see in-depth KPIs on the employee. These KPIs are generally in the form of numbers or percentages, fitting nicely within the cell space. This card is perfect to obtain the most employee information all in one place.

The benefit of using the Profile-Matrix card is the ability to separate attributes and metrics clearly into two separate spaces. This allows you to present more information than either the Basic or Profile-Ring templates without overwhelming the end-user. The end-user can easily review the list information first and cell information second, or vice versa.

A few use cases for Profile-Matrix Cards

  • Any dataset that contains a variety of valuable attributes and metrics
  • Overall Patient Information on-the-go for nurses and doctors
    • Quick information about patient history and current vitals
    • Can be accessed via mobile devices via HyperMobile
  • Student information across school systems for teachers and administrators
    • Might show student contact information and current schedule
    • Student grades, standardized test scores, and attendance rate

Quick Challenge: How would you use HyperIntelligence?

Do you have an interesting case for HyperIntelligence Cards? How would you leverage HyperIntelligence? Here on the product development team, we are always interested in how our customers are using the product. Let us know here. The best cases may just be featured on the Community site!

Style the card for optimal visibility

Now that you have the information you need to choose the card template, make choose an optimal design and style it to align with specific brand standards.
Here’s some quick style tips:

  • Rename any attribute or metric title to ensure the text appears within the given space
  • Format all metrics and numbers using decimals, percentages, prefixes, and suffixes
  • Select a basic color text within the card (i.e. black or dark grey) for optimal visibility
  • For the header, our design team suggests a dark color with white text

Think about adding Dynamic Links to the card

Within the header of the card, try out using a dynamic link. These dynamic links enable you to drive engagement with other applications across the board. With dynamic links, you are able to go to more specific application pages tailored to the keyword of the card.

For example, let’s say you have a card for all the clients at your consulting company. Each card shows the historical client data, current project number, project location, client contacts, and all of the team members staffed on the project at the moment. The dynamic link of the card ties to a unique Salesforce account for each individual client—saving you time and brain power to focus on how to turn the data into action. Check it out!

Once the card is designed and ready-to-go, the last step in card creation is to ensure the card is certified in Workstation.
To certify your card, follow these final steps:

  1. Go to the main Workstation homepage.
  2. Click “Cards” on the left-hand side of Workstation. All cards should appear.
  3. Right click on the card you want to select.
  4. Choose Certify.
  5. An orange ribbon should appear on the card. You’re now ready to go.
  6. Login to the environment on the HyperIntelligence Chrome Extension or HyperMobile app.
  7. Turn on the new card using the toggle. View your card across the Web.
