KB483873: What's new in the 2020 MicroStrategy Connector

Shichao Zhang

Software Engineer, Senior • MicroStrategy

This article introduces the improved features of the MicroStrategy Connector in MicroStrategy 2020. This article also explains how to configure and interact with the MicroStrategy Connector.

The 2020 Strategy Connector allows users to fetch data from reports or cubes that reside on other Strategy projects or environments. In Strategy 2020, the Strategy Connector is moved to the first item in the Data Sources page. With this change, it is easier for users to find the entrance of the connector so they can configure and use it.

Improved Configuration

Beginning in Strategy 2020, you do not need to deploy the Strategy connector. Instead, you just need to configure the connector and then you are ready to go! For details, please see Configure the MicroStrategy Connector.

Improved Graphical User Interface

The Strategy Connector for Strategy 2020 is refined to provide a better user experience. The pop-up window can be resized and the user interface is more responsive.
Meanwhile, the basic workflow is kept the same, so that users can smoothly transfer from Strategy 2019 to Strategy 2020. For details, please see How to Use the MicroStrategy Connector.
