KB438725: When entering a wrong password in MicroStrategy Office 10.7, the error “java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError” shows.

SYMPTOM:
When a user enters the wrong password when trying to retrieve projects in Strategy Office, instead of the “Login failure” error, a “java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError” shows:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/MicroStrategy/util/MSTRCheckedException

1. Open Microsoft Excel (Word or Powerpoint also have the issue)
2. Select the Strategy tab and select the Office button.
3. Select the project source you want to connect to and input the user and an incorrect password.
4. The error above will show.

CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Strategy Office 10.7 and above.
ACTION:
This issue has been addressed in 10.11. Upgrade to this version to take advantage of this fix. KB438725
