KB485933: When opening some dossiers in the Library Mobile app the user gets a generic “Server Error” message

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Symptom

1. It exclusively happens on the Library Mobile app and not in the browser (including mobile browser).
2. The dossier is of high complexity. A considerable number of filters, selectors and panels are present in the file. 
3. When running the dossier with no real content inside (or extremely simple) the app can execute it. 
4. An error like this “Error in generating binary relation for attributes <A> and <B> in data blending. Exceeded maximum number of jobs per connection while trying to submit a job from user at project ID %1” (Or similar) can be found in the device logs.

Cause

The increased number of jobs while using the Library Mobile App is an expected behavior and is acting by design. 
If a user runs the dossier from Library web (or on mobile browser), the server side only loads the initial panel and only when user clicks on different panel the server will load it on demand. Unlike the mobile app where it loads all at once to provide a better user experience, thus; This workflow for mobile requires more jobs on server side. 
This was done considering that the mobile users swipe panels and other elements quickly.
The users designing dossiers need to keep in mind that for visualization filters more jobs will be added unless the selector type is “search box selector” since no need to generate the report instance to populate the selection list is required.
Additionally, for an iOS client it will have an extra workflow to do cache validation and refresh. So, there will be extra requests if there is a client cache, and if the cache is invalid.
 

Action

For this situation as this is acting as expected there can be only two different paths taken:
 

1. Increase the number of jobs allowed per user in the project configuration:
