KB439420: When searching for elements inside of a View Filter of a FFSQL cube report, the 'Find' box is grayed out in MicroStrategy 9.x and 10.x.

When searching for elements inside of a View Filter of a cube report, the 'Find' box is grayed out.

Summary:
This articles describes an issue when searching for elements inside of a View Filter of a FFSQL cube report. The 'Find' box will be greyed out, but the elements will still be present in the box. This issue does not occur for a regular cube report. There is a workaround to the issue and the issue occurs in Strategy 10.4.6 and 10.10.
Symptom:
This issue occurs because the underlying table object is a managed object that normal users will not have access to by default. If a user has the bypass privilege applied to them, then the 'Find' box will be available.
Normal User (Non-Bypass):

Administrator User (Bypass):

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a Freeform SQL Cube.
2. Create a report based off of this cube
3. Ensure you're logged in as a normal user and create a View Filter on an attribute using the 'Where' Qualification and a 'In List' operator.
Cause:
Normal users do not have access to the underyling managed object table by default causing the 'Find' box to be grayed out.
Action:
This behavior is working as designed.
To allow normal users to have access to this box:
1. Perform a 'Search for Components' on this cube while having 'Managed Objects' Displayed.
2. Right-click the Logical Table associated with this cube, select 'Properties' and add the user/user group to the ACLs of this object.   KB439420
