KB486141: Why does the 'Number and Date Format' language in Web preferences change the language of a portion of an error message?

This article describes a behavior within MicroStrategy Web, whereby error messages might display different languages depending on the language web preferences set.

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Log in to Strategy Web in a browser set to ‘English’.
  2. Go to user web preferences > Language, leave everything as Default and only change the 'Number and Date Format' to 'Spanish'.
  3. Save and apply to all Projects.
  4. Trigger any error on a dossier for example and the first portion of the error message will be shown in Spanish:
