KB485092: With Editor disabled in a dossier, dragging and dropping a second metric to a bubble visualization causes the metric to freeze on the screen

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Description

In Strategy Web 2020 and 2021, with the Editor panel is disabled, if you drag and drop a second metric to a bubble visualization, the metric object freezes on the screen. After this point, dragging another object will result in the same behavior. 

Steps to reproduce 

• In the Strategy Tutorial project, create a dossier with any datasets that has a few attributes and metrics. 
• Disable the Editor panel. 
• Select the bubble visualization. 
• Drag Metric1 to the visualization zone and drop. Notice there are no issues and the metric is added successfully. 
• Drag Metric2 to the visualization and notice that it gets stuck in the middle of the screen. 
  

• OR drag Metric1 and then Attribute1. Notice the same issue- the second object gets stuck on the screen. 

Solution

Workaround 

You should drag the attribute first. 
OR
Enable the Editor tab under view. Objects can be added directly to a visualization with no issues as long as the Editor tab is enabled.
